Electric welders are a well-known type of workers, which are common in the machinery manufacturing and metal processing industries and are very important types of workers. Because some technological automatic welding cannot meet the process requirements.
There are many dangerous factors when electric welders are working, such as burning eyes and producing toxic gases during welding. I will introduce some protective equipment that electric welders often have.
1. Electric welding mask
The mask is a shielding tool used to protect the face and neck to prevent spatter, arc light and high temperature burns of welded parts during welding. There is a rectangular hole on the front of the mask, with white glass and black glass embedded in it. Black glass has the function of weakening arc light and filtering infrared and ultraviolet rays. It is divided into six models according to the depth of color, namely 7~12. The larger the number, the darker the color. It should be selected according to the welding current, the age of the welder and the vision during use.
2. Work clothes
Work clothes are protective equipment to prevent arc light and sparks from burning the human body. When wearing them, buttons should be fastened, cuffs, collars, and pockets should be fastened, and the top should not be tucked into the waistband of the pants. Common materials for welding work clothes are cotton fabrics, followed by leather welding work clothes with a higher level of protection.
Once the work clothes are found to be damaged, with holes, gaps or grease, they need to be replaced.
3. Electric welding gloves
Electric welding gloves are special protective gear to protect welders' arms and prevent electric shock. Do not wear gloves to directly hold hot weldments and welding rod heads during work. When damaged, they should be repaired and replaced in time.
4. Safety shoe covers
Usually made of heat-resistant and non-flammable materials, mostly cowhide, to prevent foot burns.
5. Safety shoes
Welder work shoes
are used to prevent foot burns and electric shocks. They should be made of insulating, heat-resistant, non-flammable, wear-resistant and non-slip materials.
