The main raw materials for making gloves include cowhide, sheepskin, microfiber leather and pigskin. Different materials have different advantages. The quality of the gloves produced also varies. Below I’ll give you a closer look at some of the pros and cons of each material.
1. Cowhide
Cowhide is divided into first layer cowhide and second layer cowhide. Among them, the second layer of cowhide is divided into cowhide and cowhide.
The first layer of cowhide is divided into AB grade and BC grade. Their thickness is about 1mm--1.2mm (the thickness can be customized). They come in white (original color), golden and black (rarely used)
Features: Soft, flexible and comfortable. Good resistance to wear, tear and puncture.
The second layer of cowhide is divided into cowhide and cowhide.
Two-layer cowhide leather is divided into grade A (1.2mm thick), grade AB (1mm--1.2mm thick), and grade BC (0.7mm--0.9mm). Colors are divided into white (natural color), golden yellow, red, customized colors (higher price, longer delivery time)
The two-layer cow neck leather is divided into AB grade (1.1mm--1.3mm) and BC grade (1.0mm--1.1mm). Colors are divided into white (natural color), golden yellow, red, customized colors (higher price, longer delivery time)
advantage:
1.1. Strong wear resistance
1.2. Good breathability
1.3.Good flexibility
1.4.Natural texture
shortcoming:
1.1. Uneven thickness
1.2. The visual effect is relatively poor
1.3.Easily deformed
2. Furniture leather
Furniture leather (1mm--1.2mm thick) is some material left after making some leather furniture. A membrane is placed over the cowhide to make it look like cowhide. Its color is usually divided into dark brown, dark gray, dark black, dark red, light white, light yellow, and light gray.
advantage:
1. Beautiful appearance, bright luster, soft leather
2. Good ductility
3. Strong water and oil absorption performance
shortcoming:
1.Due to its strong water absorption, be very careful when using it
2. When the leather is folded and stretched, the color will change, resulting in color difference.
3. Sheepskin
Sheepskin is divided into goatskin and sheepskin. Sheepskin material is relatively thicker and feels better than goatskin. But goatskin is more wear-resistant. They come in white and yellow.
advantage:
1. Strong warmth retention
2. High comfort
3. Good breathability
4. High fashion.
5. High fashion
shortcoming
1. High nursing requirements
2. The price is higher
Sheep split skin is divided into AB grade (1--1.2mm thick) and BC grade (0.7--0.9mm thick). There are yellow, white, gray and brown.
advantage:
1. The two-layer sheepskin feels soft
2. The structure of second-layer sheepskin is relatively loose and the price is relatively cheap.
shortcoming:
1. The subcutaneous tissue and fibrous tissue of the dermis are relatively loose.
4. Microfiber leather and reverse microfiber leather
The thickness of microfiber leather and reverse microfiber leather (matte texture) is generally between 1-1.2mm, which is very cost-effective.
Advantages: wear-resistant, durable and waterproof
Disadvantages: poor air permeability, not resistant to high temperatures
5. Pigskin
The second layer of pigskin is divided into grade AB (0.8mm--0.9mm) and grade BC (0.7mm--0.8mm). Its color is divided into yellow, white, brown and gray. Second-layer pigskin is generally used to make short gloves.
advantage:
Leather processed by chemical material spraying or adding PU film has better elasticity and stronger plasticity.
shortcoming:
The second layer of pigskin is less strong.
