What Material is Microfiber Leather?

Microfiber leather, also known as two-layer cowhide or "synthetic leather with cowhide fibers", is not the leather on the cow's body, but is made by breaking the scraps of cowhide leather and adding polyethylene material for re bonding. It is then sprayed with chemical materials or coated with PVC or PU film on the surface, and still retains the characteristics of cowhide

Characteristics

Microfiber leather mainly has the following characteristics:

1. The folding fastness can be comparable to natural leather. At room temperature, it can bend 200000 times without cracks. At low temperature (-20 ℃), it can bend 30000 times without cracks (with good temperature resistance and mechanical properties).
2. Moderate elongation (good skin texture).
3. High tear strength and peel strength (high wear resistance, tear strength, tensile strength).
4. There will be no pollution from production to use, and the environmental performance is superior.

Some top foreign microfiber leather products have high technological content and are more expensive than genuine leather, making them suitable for high-end applications. The appearance effect of microfiber leather is most similar to genuine leather, and its products have better thickness uniformity, tear strength, color brightness, and leather surface utilization than natural leather. It has become the development direction of contemporary synthetic leather. If there is dirt on the surface of the microfiber leather, it can be cleaned with high-grade gasoline or water. Other organic solvents or alkaline substances should not be used to prevent quality damage. Usage conditions for microfiber skin: no more than 25 minutes at a heat setting temperature of 100 ℃, no more than 10 minutes at 120 ℃, and no more than 5 minutes at 130 ℃.
